Zacapa Centenario 23 ani este maturat pe culmile munţilor din Guatemala, unde aerul tare încetineşte procesul de învechire şi presiunea atmosferică sporeşte infuzarea aromelor din pereţii butoaielor. Astfel gustul atinge perfecţiunea. În compoziţia blendului intră romuri învechite între 6 şi 23 de ani. Profilul aromatic este dominat de note lemnoase, fructe uscate şi caramel, împrumutate în timpul maturării în butoaie de whisky, sherry şi vinuri Pedro Ximenez, folosind metoda Solera. Fiecare picătură de rom trece prin fiecare tip de butoi, pentru ca aromele să se amestece. Rezultatul este un rom de o calitate excepţională, care nu mai are nevoie de nicio prezentare.
Notele degustării:
Miros: Note dulci de caramel, vanilie, cacao şi praline, nuci braziliene caramelizate, banane şi ananas uscat.
Gust: Un buchet complex, amplu, cu o vâscozitate atipică pentru un sortiment matur, dominat de arome de stafide, caise, lemn de stejar, nucşoară, frunze de tutun, cafea, vanilie, ghimbir şi scorţişoară.
Finish: Astringent.
Culoare: Arămiu.
